Any travel within Africa has security complications, including Ghana.  Violent crime is beginning to rise, as is opportunistic crime such as theft, fraud, and robbery.  However, in comparison to other African countries, the risk of crime against foreign visitors is relatively minimal.  The threat from terrorism is considered low, but cannot be ruled out.
