Port au Prince has a high level of criminal activity, mostly opportunistic in nature but can include pickpocketing and theft.  Travel to/or from the Port au Prince International Airport into the city can be dangerous, heavy traffic and congestion provides a platform for car-jackings and kidnapping incidents; solo drivers are more vulnerable.

Secure transportation, including the use of a security driver and secure vehicle will significantly reduce the risk.
