The majority of public transport is unsafe and potentially dangerous in Zambia. This is due to vehicles being badly maintained, frequent overcrowding, and a poor standard of driving. In addition, the roads are considered hazardous with potholes and unpaved surfaces making breakdowns and accidents quite common.
